Greetings once again brethren,

We pray that you have a great Lord's day in the house of God!

I received a very encouraging call yesterday from Alena asking if she could come to our services today. I assured her we would love to see her and we prayed earnestly for her last evening that she may be saved soon. One hour before we began this morning I received a text message saying she could not come. She asked me to please not be angry. I assured her I was not angry but we were very sorry that she could not come and hope to see her soon.

Please continue to pray for her. I believe the Lord is leading her to Himself but there are many voices of opposition in her life. Pray for her as she counts the cost of becoming a disciple. She knows her need but the fear of man is keeping her in Satan's grasp.

On a lighter note we have been having fun trying to get around this week without our car. I went to the shop early in the week with a strange engine noise. The mechanic told me to "park it" Driving further might finish off the motor. Well, I am still waiting for him to call and tell me what it will cost to fix it. He said it will depend on how much damage was done before I got it to him. He has to "open up" the patient before he can be sure of the extent of the damage. I PLAN ON SELLING THE THING IN A MONTH TOO! Sometimes it is one thing after another amen?

Friends and prayer partners,

We thank the Lord for another week full of opportunities to share Christ. The Lord is working in several people's lives.

Alena-
Alena called and asked to meet because she is in such turmoil over the condition of her soul. After meeting with her for two hours the whole story became clear. She knows she is lost and is wrestling with the Lord. She is also very fearful and concerned about what others will think and how her life would change if she gets saved. It comes down to the place where she is still more concerned about what people will think than she is about her soul. She told me she didn't sleep at all the night before, then in the next breath tells me she doesn't know how she can handle life as a Christian. She wants to "hold back" the right to do her own thing. I gently explained that she is focusing on the wrong thing. She is looking at what life may be like and not thinking about where she will spend eternity. She is still holding back a secret place in her heart and until she is ready to let that go she is not ready to fully rely on Christ. She has been extremely open and honest about her feelings. I asked her what she thought she needed to do and she said she needs to wait, she knows she isn't yet ready to surrender. We discussed another meeting this week and she is supposed to call.

John and Anna-
This couple listened intently as I shared the gospel with them. They are very interested and would like to continue doing a Bible study. They also know they are lost but do not yet fully understand the significance of that fact. He asked me how long it was after I first heard the gospel before I got saved and I told him it took 10 years for the Lord to break me. He said he hopes it doesn't take that long for him! This couple are really like a blank slate. They are excited by what they are learning and convicted at the same time. I asked them if they would consider meeting to study further and they were excited by the prospect. He asked if they could come to our services on Sundays here at the house. It may be that these four friends may begin coming together to meet with us. Please pray!

The Slovakian Girl named Misha also has expressed an interest in coming to services here. Pray that we can minister the Word to these precious people.

We are humbled by the opportunities the Lord is bringing our way. We ask why it is happening now when we must prepare to return to the states for furlough and further deputation. The Lord knows it breaks our hearts to leave and we long for souls to be saved. All in His time.

Greetings friends,

We have had another good week in the Lord. We finished the Bible study with Milada and Alena on Monday. Alena seemed to be under conviction but didn't get saved. Milada was interested in the information but didn't give any indication that she was concerned about her soul. This evening I received a message that our friend in Prague spent an hour on the phone with Alena. She said she knows she needs to be saved and wants to meet with me again this week. Pray for her!

Wednesday we walked through the gospel with Jan and Anna. they are very interested in the lessons but do not seem to be under conviction over their lost state. There is no fear of God before their eyes and so even though they are interested it is only head knowledge at this point. Pray for the Spirit to reveal to them the holiness of God that they might see their own wretchedness. This Friday we are scheduled to do the fourth study with them.

I also received an email from Misha. She is the Slovakian woman with which we did a Bible study. She has expressed an interest in coming for further studies on the topic of salvation. I am going to try and get all of these people together for a weekly study. Pray for the timing of this.

Tuesday we will go to Prague to request a new passport for James. It can only be done at the U.S embassy during the morning hours. We will stay the night on Tuesday so we can be there early on Wednesday morning.

Blessed week of Bible studies

Tuesday I met for the second time with Alena and Milada. They have been very attentive and seem sincerly interested in how to have a relationship with the Lord. Study three is scheduled for tomorrow evening.

Wednesday evening John and Anna came over for our first study. They were quite disturbed to find out how they had broken every one of God's laws and would stand guilty before Him. I will meet with them this week on Wednesday again at 4:00 PM.

Friday afternoon Debra and I met with Misha for the fourth time. I carefully explained to her repentance and faith and what God promises to her if she will repent and trust Christ. She listened intently but did not choose to trust Him at this time. We left the door open and told her to call if she had any further questions about to gain that right relationship with the Lord.

We are still comunicating with the lady from Velke Mezirici. She has many questions and seems a little timid about meeting with us. She says she is saved but I have not heard her testimony yet.

Pray as we follow up with these souls in need of Christ and may God bless you for your faithfulness,

Greetings friends,

We had another very busy week here. We completed our Spring literature blitz. I went out twice this week and the family finished up on Saturday. This week alone we distributed over 1800 pieces. In the end we personally distributed over 15,000 booklets. both into mailboxes and into the hands of people on the streets. We have one active Bible study and another good contact as a result so far. Why have we quit? We ran out of all material! Distributed everything we had, well, except for a few hundred of each kind to give out as the Lord gives opportunity. As a side benefit from the Lord we now have three Bible studies going on. Two from a completely different source. Isn't it amazing how the Lord blesses from different areas than from where we are laboring? In the end it is not a plan or a method or an outreach that will bring souls to Christ. He has said, He will share his glory with no man, Amen?

Had a great first study with Milarda and Alena on Wednesday evening. Our fourth study with Misha was canceled because she is sick. Pray that we get together with her this week to go over repentance and faith. Wednesday evening this week I will meet again with Alena and Milarda. Thursday I am scheduled to meet for a first study with John and Anna. Pray for these meetings and these folks.

The woman who contacted me from Velke Mezirici has been asking many questions by email. I offered to come and preach a service there in her town but she didn't feel ready for that. Friday I asked her for her salvation testimony since she claims to be a Christian. She has not answered me yet and I am hoping it will turn into another opportunity to do a Bible study. I do not believe she is saved from the content of our messages. Very spiritual but also very misdirected.

The Lord is blessing and our hearts are full. Thanks for faithfully praying.
